🇺🇸 Would you like to make a little bear with me? Cali the bear was my very first crochet design and I wanted to share her with you ❤︎ I will be posting parts of this pattern over the next few days because it’s a little too long for one single post, so make sure you subscribe to get the notifications and have fun!

Observation : passez les instructions en anglais pour arriver jusqu’à la partie en français.

🇺🇸 ENGLISH

Materials:

• You can use any yarn weight or type, adapt your hook size accordingly. You’ll need a main color for the bear and a contrast color for the clothes and blanket. For reference, I used 4-ply cotton yarn (Scheepjes Catona 157 and DMC Natura Just Cotton 904).

• Crochet hook in two different sizes; adapted to your yarn type. We are going to make all the parts of the bear using 1 hook size, and the blanket using a hook 1mm bigger. Suggestions:

4-ply cotton yarn: 2/2.5mm for the bear and 3/3.5mm for the blanket.

8-ply cotton yarn: 3.5/4mm for the bear and 4.5/5mm for the blanket.

Thin chenille yarn: 3.5/4mm for the bear and 4.5/5mm for the blanket.

Super Bulky chenille yarn: 5/5.5mm hook for the bear and 6/6.5mm for the blanket.

Please note that finished size will vary according to yarn type, hook size and tension.

• Embroidery thread or worsted yarn for the eyes and cheeks
• Tapestry needle, scissors, stitch markers
• Fiberfill

Notes

This pattern is written in U.S. terminology. I am left-handed.

Repeat stitches in (  ) x numbers of times. E.g: (1 sc, 1 inc)x6 = make 1 sc, 1 inc a total of 6 times.

Work in continuous spirals (rounds), do not join the rounds unless instructed in the pattern.

Cali measures approximately 14 cm / 5.5 inches with 4-ply cotton yarn and a 2mm hook.

ch – chain stitch

Arms (x2)

Start with main color.

Rnd1 – 6 sc in MR (6)

Rnd2 – 6 inc (12)

Rnds 3 to 12 – 12 sc (12) [10 rounds]

Change to contrast color. FO main color.

Rnds 12 to 14 – 12 sc (12) [3 rounds]

Do not stuff the arms! Flatten the piece and make 6 sc to join both sides. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Ears (x2)

Use your main color.

Rnd1- 6 sc in the MR (6)

Rnd2 – 6 inc(12)

Rnd3 – (1 sc, 1 inc) x6 (18)

Rnd4 – 2 sc, 1 inc(24) 

Rnds 5 and 6 – 24 sc (24) [2 rounds]

Using a tapestry needle, flatten the ear and sew both sides together.

Fold the ear in half and pass the yarn through the first half in order to sew both sides together, starting from the back of the ear.

Sew 4 stitches together, but only using the inner rows of the ears, like shown in the pictures below.

Do not sew the first two stitches together, leave the ear ‘open’ in the front.

Matériels

• Vous pouvez réaliser ce projet avec n’importe quel fil, adaptez la taille de votre crochet selon le fil choisi. Vous aurez besoin d’une couleur principale pour l’ours et une couleur de contraste pour les vêtements et la petite couverture. Pour ce patron, j’ai utilisé les fils Scheepjes Catona 157 et DMC Natura Just Cotton 904.

• Crochet dans 2 tailles différentes : 1 taille pour toutes les parties du corps et un crochet 1mm plus grand pour la petite couverture. Suggestions de tailles de crochet :

Cotton Scheepjes Catona, DMC, Ricorumi, Hobbii 4/4 : 2/2.5 mm pour l’ours et 3/3.5 mm pour la couverture.

Cotton Scheepjes Cahlista, Hobbii Rainbow 8/8 : 3.5/4 mm pour l’ours et 4.5/5 mm pour la couverture.

Chenille fine DMC Happy Chenille, Pingo chenille, Ricorumi Nile Nili etc : 3.5/4 mm pour l’ours e and 4.5/5 mm pour la couverture.

Laine Chenille Super Bulky Hobbit Baby Snuggle ou Honey Bunny, Himalya Dolphin Baby, Gründl Funny, etc : 5/5.5 mm pour l’ours et 6/6.5 mm pour la couverture.

La taille finale peut varier selon les fils, crochets et tension utilisés.

• Fils en coton pour broder le visage
• Aiguille à laine, marqueurs de mailles, ciseaux
• Rembourrage

Notes

Répéter les mailles entre (  ) X nombre de fois. Ex : (1 ms, 1 aug)x6 = faire *1 ms + 1 aug* 6 fois.

Travailler en spirale continue, ne pas joindre les tours sauf mention contraire.

Je suis gauchère! Si vous êtes droitier-ère vous allez remarquer que mes photos peuvent avoir l’air ‘inversées’ par rapport à votre travail. Cela n’aura pas d’impact sur les instructions ou le résultat final.

Cali mesure environ 14 cm avec le fil Scheepjes Catona et un crochet de 2 mm.

Commencer avec la couleur principale.

Changer pour la couleur de contraste. ARR la couleur principale.

Trs 12-14) 12 ms (12) [3 tours]

Ne pas rembourrer les bras! Aplatir le bras et joindre les deux côtés avec 6 ms. Couper le fil et laisser une bonne longueur pour l’assemblage.

Oreilles (x2)

Utiliser la couleur principale.

Tr1) 6 ms dans le CM (6)

Tr2) 6 aug (12)

Tr3) (1 ms, 1 aug) x6 (18)

Tr4) 2 ms, 1 aug(24) 

Trs 5-6) 24 ms (24) [2 tours] 

Couper le fil et laisser une bonne longueur. Aplatir l’oreille et coudre les deux côtés ensemble avec une aiguille à laine.

Plier l’oreille en deux et passer l’aiguille dans la première moitié pour pouvoir coudre les deux côtés ensemble, commençant par la partie arrière.

Coudre 4 mailles ensemble, en passant seulement par les deux rangs intérieurs de l’oreille.

Ne pas coudre les deux premières mailles pour que l’oreille reste ouverte devant.
